Members of the healing team, who are trained in Healing Touch Spiritual Ministry, will be on hand to provide 15-minute Healing Touch treatments. According to William Collinge, a psychologist and researcher for the National Institutes of Health, Healing Touch is one of the energy healing modalities that has been studied and found to help in a variety of conditions. In his book Partners in Health: Simple Ways to Offer Support, Comfort, and Care to a Loved One Facing Illness he says, "there have been literally hundreds of studies on the many forms of energy healing testifying to benefits for all kinds of health conditions." He mentions general effects like relaxation as well as positive effects in alleviating pain, depression, anxiety, treatment of side effects for cancer patients and positive effects on brain functioning. The clinic takes place in Hartford Hall with a choice of sitting in a chair or lying on a massage table for treatments and offers the opportunity to experience greater well-being.
